Simply put we have amazing friends. Talented, artistic, inspirational friends, and when Barking Dog needed a logo and label design, we naturally enlisted the help of those more creative than ourselves. We also realized that we wanted our labels to speak to the magnificence of the Pacific Northwest and the natural beauty of the region.  With those sensibilities in mind, we asked artist and lifelong friend, Dr. David Haughton, to paint four works inspired by the vineyard and the Chehalem Mountains AVA.  These works were exhibited professionally at Gallery 110 in Seattle, Washington and three of those painting now serve as the labels for our inaugural wines.

In the future, when we have an exceptional cuvée and release a reserve bottling, we will invite other artists to craft a unique label specific to that vintage.

David A. Haughton was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1956 and moved to Canada in 1991. He has been exhibiting for over thirty years and has extensively painted the wild west coast of British Columbia with its stormy clouds, turbulent waters and ships at sea. Other recent series explore the power of media photos of “bad guys” to provoke our fears, and reflect on the way these images trigger our innate survival skills. Haughton has exhibited in Zurich, Boston, New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle and Vancouver, and his work hangs in private and corporate collections worldwide.
